Zusammenfassung:	A passive optical access network based on time division multiple access and colourless optical network unit is demonstrated. The characterization of the burst mode configuration shows that the system can operate at 1.25 Gbit/s up to 20 km with 16 dB optical budget. The colourless ONU is a key module to increase the flexibility of WDM networks through wavelength routing and upgradable bit rate.
