Zusammenfassung:Currently, the framework for e-commerce is at very early stages in Pakistan. As soon as full e-commerce starts in Pakistan, network security services will need to be provided to businesses and consumers. Digital signature certificates enable anonymous users to trust each other using public key infrastructure (PKI). Certification Authorities (CAs) like VeriSign/sup TM/ build PKI and do certificate management. Buying security services or products from these CAs will cost a lot of money to businesses in Pakistan. This paper explores the idea of developing and regulating CAs in Pakistan so that as soon as e-commerce is started, there is a technical and legal framework available for their working.
