Zusammenfassung:An artificial neural network was developed to detect patient motion artifacts in electrical impedance plethysmography signals. The network was trained using back propagation, and could differentiate between motion free waveforms and waveforms corrupted by motion artifacts. The use of such a network in a continuous data acquisition system may result in considerable savings in physician's time and computer memory.
