Zusammenfassung:In military operations, situational awareness, i.e., knowing what is going on around you, is of the utmost importance. As adversaries improve their communications capabilities, the challenge remains to keep up with recent developments to improve information exchange, ensure mission agility, and maintain information superiority. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have experienced a renewed need to do targeted research, and continue providing military capacities during these challenging times. We need to adapt to, recover from, and overcome this challenge. Despite the lockdowns the world over, we have seen a steady stream of research being conducted, and have received many high quality contributions to the Series. From these submissions, our reviewers helped identify three particularly interesting works, which we proudly present to you in this Series issue. In various ways, these articles all contribute to information superiority and situational awareness, by improving the state of the art of military communications and networks.
