Zusammenfassung: | Silicon-chips present several challenges for traditional electromagnetic (EM) tools. In this paper we review how the Cadence EMX Planar 3D Solver has been designed to overcome these issues. Specifically, we discuss necessary features for PDK support: meshing requirements, solver options, and ease-of-use enhancements in the Cadence Virtuoso design environment. EMX can be used as part of scalable model generation process for a variety of typical components, for example inductors, transformers and baluns. These scalable models can then be used for synthesis of optimal components that meet the user-supplied specifications. |
