Biographies

In addition to biographies, this department publishes autobiographies, memoirs, and brief and extended obituaries. Each is intended to celebrate a life. They should be discursive but concise, learned, anecdotal, touching and informative, and occasionally imbued with compassionate humor. Naturally, they should include a thoughtful summation of the subject’s life and virtue, as well as—where applicable—the cause of death. Unsigned items are the work of the editor.
