Zusammenfassung: | Summary form only given. Continuous-wave (CW) nonlinear frequency conversion using quasi-phasematched crystals has become a relatively mature technique for efficiently generating radiation over a broad range of wavelengths. With its high nonlinearity of d/sub eff/=9.5 pm/V and high damage threshold, PPKTP is an interesting alternative to periodically poled LiNbO/sub 3/ and LiTaO/sub 3/ (PPLN, PPLT). One important advantage of this material is the absence of photorefractive effects which, for example, allows operation at room temperature. We used a PPKTP crystal fabricated at Tel Aviv University to build a CW pump resonant, singly resonant optical parametric oscillator (PR-SRO). It is pumped by a frequency-doubled Nd:YAG master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) system generating 2.4 W of single-frequency diffraction limited light at 532 nn via single-pass second harmonic generation in PPLN. |
