Zusammenfassung:Bedridden persons who cannot use their hands, mouth or ears communicate with other persons only by opening and shutting their eyelids. Hence a communication support system for such persons is important and necessary. The purpose of this paper is to design a system to estimate whether an eyelid is open or shut from a sequence of real images which are taken with a CCD camera.
