Zusammenfassung: | We present a tool for predicting the quality of service (QoS) of access networks that support voice and data services. The input traffic is composed of multiple connections with packets based on real traffic for both voice and Internet data. The simulator allows interleaving of voice (packet) and Internet data connections and predicts reliable results for packet loss, delay and jitter. These results can be easily recomputed for different bandwidths, memory sizes, and number of parallel connections. A configuration with multiple mobile units (computers) that home on a base station would be ideal for using this tool to predict capacity requirements per quality of service needs. This paper describes the simulation tool and provides performance results for different configurations of the traffic scenarios. |
