Zusammenfassung:A slow-wave structure has been applied to a classical patch antenna in order to reduce its size up to 50%. This results, at the same time, in a 50% bandwidth increase and a decrease in gain of 3.6 dB. In contrast to other methods this one is advantageous because it does not affect the antenna feed point. The geometry of the structure and its alignment are not critical and it does not require any via holes.
