Methane optical frequency standard on recoil doublet components

The He-Ne/CH/sub 4/ laser frequency standard using recoil doublet components as a reference was under investigation. The frequency shifts for different parameters were measured. These experiments allow us to estimate the reproducibility of the methane standard of 10/sup -14/.
