Zusammenfassung: | Charge density waves have been shown to compete with superconductivity in underdoped cuprate materials, so it is important to understand them. A recent theory links charge density waves and superconductivity via an approximate SU(2) symmetry. We give a simplified discussion of this theory and comment on the relationship of this theory to a few experiments, which suggest that it may give a model that captures the essential physics of high-T c cuprate superconductivity. |
