Zusammenfassung: | Field-based scan conversion converts every field in an interlaced sequence to a progressive format or doubles the field rate from 60 Hz to 120 Hz. This paper proposes the new field-based scan conversion that consists of spatial interpolation based on spatial correlation and edge enhancement. First, edge-preserving directional interpolation is performed along the vertical direction to double the field rate. Second, edge enhancement based on unsharp masking is used to increase the contrast which is sensitive to the HVS (human visual system). The proposed method is very simple and hardware complexity for realizing the algorithm is very low. |
