Zusammenfassung: | The objective of this technology development program was to develop repetitive pulse generator technology for driving the Spiral Line Inductance Accelerator (SLIA) at a repetition rate of 10 MHz with pulse characteristics of 300 kV, 12 -15 kA in a 30 nanosecond wide pulse, plus a 70 ns core reset pulse. These are stiff requirements for conventional pulsed power switching technologies. At Tetra Corporation we have pursued an alternate approach to the pulse generator. Two basic approaches to producing a pulse shape with the correct shape for the SLIA application were developed. Experimental results with low voltage version of the pulse generator demonstrated the performance characteristics in hardware. |
