Zusammenfassung:Underwater wave propagation is dependent on the substrata in the 1-200 Hz frequency domain. In a shallow water configuration, seismic and acoustic wave propagation is described by various waveguides. These are defined and limited by the sea surface and various interfaces in the sedimentary layer. Consequently, wave propagation is affected by frequency. The aim of this study is to measure the wave propagation velocity in the various sedimentary layers using this frequency dispersion as a function of the frequency bandwidth. The estimation of wave propagation parameters allows for the characterisation of the propagation environment. Modelling with normal mode theory and ray theory are used to confirm these results.
