Advanced architectures for wideband WDM amplifiers
In some currently deployed terrestrial transmission systems, amplifiers must cope with long-term capacity upgrades by ensuring a gain bandwidth exceeding 30 nm and a noise performance close to 5 dB. Zusammenfassung: | In some currently deployed terrestrial transmission systems, amplifiers must cope with long-term capacity upgrades by ensuring a gain bandwidth exceeding 30 nm and a noise performance close to 5 dB. A complex 980-nm/1480-nm pumped hybrid structure (HEDFFB), which combines fluoride and silica fibers, has been proposed to further improve the gain and noise performance. Here, a new and simple amplifier architecture (1.48 /spl mu/m H-EDFFA) is compared to these previous ones. |
