Zusammenfassung:Electrical equipment such as flash lamps and lasers require short but intense bursts of energy which can be obtained from rapidly discharging a capacitor. The energy released to this equipment must first be supplied to the discharge capacitor by a capacitor charging power supply (CCPS). This paper develops a simplified model for a particular CCPS topology which gives insight into some of the problems faced by designers of these circuits.
