Zusammenfassung: | The scattered electromagnetic field given plane wave illumination of a conducting body of revolution buried in a lossy soil is considered. The specific applications of interest are the detection of buried metallic mines or unexploded ordnance. A complete "full-wave analysis" is employed in which no simplifying assumptions are made with regard to the interaction of the buried object with the surrounding medium. A method of moments solution to the mixed potential electric field integral equation (MPIE) is found using a cylindrical harmonic eigenfunction expansion for the magnetic vector potential dyadic Green's function of the two-layer medium. The geometry of the two-layer problem is shown. |
