Zusammenfassung:This paper presents an empirical approach of flux flow loss in a high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnetic energy storage coil based on finite element algorithm and numerical circuit analyses. The critical current and flux flow loss distributions are discussed in details by integrating the magnetic-field-dependent anisotropy and powerlaw critical state model of first-generation HTS Bi-2223 tape. A coil-current-dependent power-law formula is derived to estimate flux flow loss of a prototype Bi-2223 solenoid coil under different energy exchange operation conditions.
