Zusammenfassung: | In this paper, a prioritized queueing handoff scheme in the code division multiple access (CDMA) cellular system is proposed and analyzed. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated by computer simulation, and it is compared with that of the nonprioritized call handling and first-in first-out (FIFO) queueing disciplines. A channel must be granted to the handoff request before the power received by the mobile station (MS) reaches the "receiver threshold", i.e., the threshold in the received power for successful handoff. The handoff threshold and the receiver threshold in the CDMA cellular system are defined as respectively: (1) the pilot strength at the time that the pilot strength measurement message (PSMM) (T ADD) from the MS is received to the base station (BS) of a neighbor cell; and (2) the T DROP timer is expired and the pilot strength at the time that the PSMM (T DROP) from the MS is received to the BS of the current cell. |
