Zusammenfassung:Considering the importance of magneto-elastic (ME) effects on the magnetic anisotropy (MA) of thin films, phenomenological analysis of the MA of Co ferrites on (001) and (111) substrates is conducted. It is found that thin films of Co ferrites on (111) substrates may produce oblique magnetization, while those on (001) substrates exhibit perpendicular MA. First-principles calculations for the ME constant of L1 0 ordered alloys, which show large uniaxial MA, are also performed, and it is determined that the value of the ME constant is on the same order of magnitude as that for the Co ferrites.
