An Automatic Evaluation Procedure for 3-D Scanners in Robotics Applications

Various 3-D sensors with highly varying properties exist. Comparing these sensors has traditionally been a cumbersome task, involving scanners to be set up and tested at the same place. Zusammenfassung:Various 3-D sensors with highly varying properties exist. Comparing these sensors has traditionally been a cumbersome task, involving scanners to be set up and tested at the same place. In this article, a portable test plate, which can be used to test 3-D scanners, is described. Using this portable test plate, eight different scanners have been tested. These are compared both qualitatively and quantitatively.
