High capacity, photo-trimmable athermal silicon waveguides
Sandwiching a photosensitive layer of As 2 S 3 between Si core and polymer cladding enables trimming of athermal waveguides. Moreover, athermal operation enables the compensation of thermal effects related to Si nonlinearity with respect to standard waveguides.
