Design of PMCP extension for control of two-box model-based DLNA-compliant devices
The DLNA guidelines defines two-box streaming models, which consist of the Digital Media Player (DMP) acting as both the UPnP control point and media renderer, and the Digital Media Server (DMS) acting as the UPnP media server. Zusammenfassung: | The DLNA guidelines defines two-box streaming models, which consist of the Digital Media Player (DMP) acting as both the UPnP control point and media renderer, and the Digital Media Server (DMS) acting as the UPnP media server. In such two-box models, the basic architecture of the PMCP proposed in our previous work needs to be extended to support discovery and control services of DLNA-compliant devices. Therefore, we explain the methods for supporting interoperability between the PMCP and DLNA-compliant devices. Finally, we describe how DLNA-compliant devices in different UPnP-enabled home networks can interact with each other via the designed PMCP. |
