Zusammenfassung:A manufacturing enterprise promotes into the lean system is an important global perspective goal in recent years; Median/small-sized manufacturing enterprises in Taiwan are always in pursuit of their international competition capability. Today, the total preventive maintenance (TPM) technique has been highlighted by all the manufacturing enterprises in Taiwan. However, the required expensive cost and more resource for TPM implementation cause this technique can only apply to most of the larger size enterprises in Taiwan. This study intends to explore TPM technique to fit the median/small-sized enterprises in Taiwan. The model developed is by using a survey on some median/small-sized enterprises they are currently applying the TPM technique within the Madou, Guantian, and Jiali Industrial District in Tainan City, the south area of Taiwan. The designed questionnaires survey as a concluded model for the median/small-sized enterprise are selected from eight types of traditional industries to understand their recognition of TPM new concept and technique, their acceptance or difficulty in promoting TPM experiences, and also their perspectives of TPM implementation. It is expected that the developed TPM model would be a useful reference for median/small-sized enterprises to implement TPM technique and reduce both the expense and resource in the future.
