Zusammenfassung:The main criticism and stumbling block in the implementation of Outcome Based Education, has been the lack of clear and specific steps on how to conduct the direct assessment of program outcome and course outcome without employing a large number of fulltime clerks. Reported in this paper is a method that sums a PO score by its cumulative fractional contribution from a course, and requires minimal data input prior to calculations of CO's and PO's. The fractional CO-PO mapping, once set up, should not be difficult to execute to compute the CO and PO provided an educator spends a little time filling the fractions in the marking scheme and specifying the contribution of each question or aspect of assignment to any one CO. Real examples programmed in Excel are shown.
