Zusammenfassung: | One effective method for making a large capacity mobile communication system is to develop a microcellular system. One way to develop a microcellular system is to place the base station antenna lower than the surrounding buildings, which is called a street microcellular system. In that system, with an omni-directional base station antenna, received power attenuation is proportional to the inverse square of the propagation distance. The frequency reuse interval is therefore larger and spectral efficiency is lower than for conventional systems. Regarding this problem, the authors have already presented simulation results of propagation control methods simply using 2-element array antennas. In this paper, we present the experimental results (at 2.3 GHz) of those systems and we show that by using this method it is possible to achieve efficient utilization of the radio spectrum. |
