Zusammenfassung: | In this paper, we propose the use of a metal plane reflector to improve the radiation pattern of a sensor node of a Real-time Location System (RTLS). The position and the size of the plane reflector are optimized using a commercial electromagnetic (EM) simulator. We then demonstrate with a simple scenario how the localization accuracy is improved by the solution when the system is placed on a wall corner. Our study gives an insight on how the surroundings impact the localization accuracy of an RSSI-based (Received Signal Strength Indication) RTLS system. |
