Zusammenfassung:The 2012 IEEE Workshop on Microelectronics and Electron Devices (WMED) is an IEEE professional society workshop hosted by the Boise Chapter of the IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS). The WMED brings together students, faculty and industry researchers for a day of engaging invited talks and tutorials, technical presentations, poster sessions, and professional networking. This year marks the tenth anniversary of hosting the WMED in Boise. We believe that, over the last nine years, the workshop has played a key role in promoting the sharing of technical knowledge and information in the Northwest region of the United States and beyond. The 2012 WMED management committee and I believe that this year's program will be interesting and educational for all. We are very excited to have several distinguished speakers from academia and industry who will cover a wide range of topics in the semiconductor field. During the workshop, IEEE WMED also provides a unique program for local area high school students. The WMED high school program introduces students to the field of engineering as a career choice, and features presentations highlighting engineering experiences from experts in the field, through technical talks and a panel discussion.
