Zusammenfassung: | In this paper, we present a patent pending type-based equalizer estimation technique to compensate for in-band amplitude and group delay distortions in analog/RF circuits. Its underlining principle is that for a given modulation scheme and pulse-shaping function, the modulated signal has a unique statistical distribution, and that any in-band amplitude and group delay variations in the circuit distort its output statistical distribution. The difference between the ideal and the output statistics contains the distortion information, and is used to design an equalizer. Computer simulations have shown that the type-based technique can accurately determine the equalizer that effectively compensates for the analog/RF circuit in-band distortions, thereby significantly improving the system performance. |
