Zusammenfassung:In this paper a three-dimensional radar imaging method is presented which combines the FMCW approach for range measurement with digital beamforming in two dimensions. By an orthogonal arrangement of the transmit and receive antenna arrays, the angular information in azimuth and elevation can be evaluated. Hence, the position of an object in three- dimensional space can be determined. The results in terms of two-dimensional beamforming and three-dimensional imaging capabilities are verified by simulation as well as by measurements using a 24 GHz digital beamforming radar sensor with eight receiver and eight transmitter channels.
