Zusammenfassung: | In this paper an efficient and cost effective WLAN architecture is proposed by combining the beneficial properties of wireless and optical technologies, capable of delivering a data rate up to 1 Gbps per cell in indoor environment. The system uses a hybrid WDM/TDM PON with a remotely pumped Erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) as the fixed infrastructure and the 60 GHz radio to provide the end user access and mobility. This scheme has advantages that it uses a single transmission fiber for both down and upstream signals and it reduces Rayleigh scattering contribution. The results show that EDFA provides gain to both upstream signals and seed light sources, and with a small CW seed power we can significantly improve the sensitivity of the upstream transmission. |
