Polarization independent operation of U-turn shape semiconductor optical amplifier by using PLC-based polarization diversity circuit

The PDG of the SOA module was less than 1 dB in a wavelength range of 1540-1570 nm. We also clarified that the PDG was dominated by the SOA gain slope with an input power.
