Zusammenfassung: | Due to very fast and intensive development, the diameter of LAN deployment has increased to a bigger scale, advancing the concept of Campus Area Network. The huge modifications in network size have led to various concerns, some very crucial. One such example is the concern of proper design of network without which the aspects of quality, speed and efficiency are affected. These problems do not only arise when a network is designed and deployed. They can arise after the establishment of a network as well, due to reasons such as arbitrary growth, careless planning, design mistakes, replacement of devices/links upon failures or for extending, etc. In this paper we study the effects of poor design and arbitrary growth particularly in access layer on the efficiency of a switched LAN. |
