Electrically large spline profile smooth-wall horns for spot beam applications

In this paper we describe another useful application for spline-profile, smooth-wall horns: as direct radiating antennas for generating high-directivity spot beams (patent pending). Such applications can require horn apertures as large as 24λ with peak directivities exceeding 36dBi.
