Zusammenfassung:Finite element method is used as a basis for an environmental model of an artificial water reservoir (lake) Botonega in Croatia. Geometry of the model has to be produced from geodesic data of the lake. Due to presence of the water available data are very limited and not even a simple finite element model could be made. Existing data could not be interpolated using simple predicting methods (potential method, isotropic kriging). Lake had to be divided into sections and anisotropic kriging applied to each part independently. Three possible kriging methods have been tested (simple, ordinary and limit) and limit kriging showed the best results. Interpolated sections are assembled into whole lake and finite element model is produced.
