Zusammenfassung:Recent years have seen rapid increase in 2 Dimensional arrays for NDE imaging applications. This paper applies conformal mapping techniques as a means of designing non-periodic, sparse array transducers. Extensive field modeling using Huygens' principle is employed to study merits of the new array layout. Finally, an image processing methodology to conveniently compare various aperiodic designs is presented.
