Zusammenfassung:Multimedia technology has made very significant advances in the last ten years. However, the extent to which its introduction in the classroom has progressed has been constrained by several internal problems as well as factors external to the teaching institution. In Victoria (Australia), a group of universities in collaboration with the government are studying such issues related to the introduction of multimedia in education. At the university department level, a variety of 'internal' management, staff and student related issues and problems do exist. The paper addresses some of these and attempts to suggest guidelines for their eventual resolution.
