A Practical Framework for IS Outsourcing Using the Integrated Fuzzy Group Decision Making Approach

Making a decision scientifically for Information System (IS) outsourcing problems and outsourcing process management is important subject for organizations. One of the most essential steps in IS outsourcing decisions is finding the most appropriate candidate information systems for outsourcing. This paper presents an integrated fuzzy group decision-making approach based on fuzzy AHP and fuzzy TOPSIS for IS outsourcing decision problem. To form problem structure, seven criteria and five Information System Projects (ISPs) are considered. The proposed methodology was implemented in an actual case. The Fuzzy AHP is used to analyze the structure of the outsourcing problem and determine weights of the criteria, and Fuzzy TOPSIS method is used for final ranking.
