Zusammenfassung:In high-speed optical transmission communication systems PMD compensation is crucial and it is challenging to establish an efficient compensator. We demonstrate an optical polarization mode compensation (PMC) system with logical controlling unit based on DSP and CPLD platform. The PMD compensation platform we designed implements with some high-speed control components which shorten the compensation time to nearly 100 microseconds per loop. Utilizing the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm the whole system could complete the first-stage and second-stage PMD compensation.
