Zusammenfassung: | Golden alga is an important component of plankton in water ecology. In this study, the grazing characteristics of Poterrioochromonas sp., isolated from Microcystis cultures in 2002, was described. The results showed that this golden alga has size-based prey selectivity. The size of grazed preys was no more than 10 μm. Poterioochromonas sp. was able to ingest single cell, short catenarian or filiform composed of 4 or less little cells, whose total length was no more than 10 μm. The shape of Poterrioochromonas sp. could be elongated during their ingestion. |
