Zusammenfassung: | Eulerian-Eulerian technique has commonly been used in numerical simulations of particles sedimentation, deposition and conformity to fluid flow. Later studies show that Eulerian-Lagrangian technique is practically more flexible where particle-particle and particle-wall interactions within the flow boundaries can be modeled. This paper scrutinizes the employment of splitting method in the solution of the fluid phase where the linear terms in Navier-Stokes equations are solved by Crank-Nicholson method while the non-linear terms are solved by the second order Adams-Bashforth method. Lagrangian Particle equations of motions are embedded into the original Eulerian Splitting method algorithm with a single reflection of drag force. One-way coupling is imposed to the flow-particle motion. A range of particle sizes in traditional lid driven cavity flow is modeled. Relationship between particle size and conformity to fluid flow is also analyzed. Sand-like model underneath a simplified lake was successfully simulated showing the integrity of the conformity phenomenon. |
