Simultaneous penalty free dual wavelength conversion using four wave mixing in a Semiconductor Optical Amplifier

We demonstrate simultaneous wavelength conversion of two 10 Gb/s signals of different modulation format (PSK&ASK) using a single common pump and a highly non-linear Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (SOA). The converted signals had no measurable power penalty.
