Photonic crystal fiber with ring-core hollow-defect for evanescent wave chemical sensing
A doped-ring hollow-defect structure is proposed in photonic crystal fiber to acheive a higher evanescent field. Vectorial modal analysis with finite element method and experimental results confirmed significantly enhanced sensitivity in the near IR region.
