Zusammenfassung:The importance of renewable energy sources has been growing at a high rate as a result of being environment friendly. In particular, wind energy is one of the most successfully utilized of such sources to produce electrical energy. Because of the randomness of wind speed, the two-state model used for modeling conventional generator is not suited for modeling wind turbine generators(WTG). Although it is more complex and large, a multi-stage model is better suited in this case. This paper presents a simplified multi-state model and test results, which indicate its effectiveness for the WTG. Case study using the Jeju Island power system in Korea as an example shows how it is used to perform a reliability evaluation study of an actual power system.
