Semiconductor laser tracking frequency distance gauge

Space-based astronomical instruments and gravitational experiments require dramatically improved distance measurement accuracy. The tracking frequency laser distance gauge measures to picometer accuracy. We discuss the design of the semiconductor laser version and its controller.
