Zusammenfassung:This paper shows that the dispersion of these plasmon modes can be described by the photonic bandstructures of two-dimensional array of SiO 2 pillars. Results show that the position of the resonances agrees well with the calculated resonances based on the photonic bandstructure in the GammaX direction. Thus, the surface plasmon propagation in this structure is governed by the photonic bandstructure of the array of pillars. Hence, selective removal of pillars will allow the creation of plasmonic cavities and waveguides, similar to photonic crystal structures in dielectric materials.
