Zusammenfassung:Various methods employed in obtaining dynamic braking with a single d-c series motor are discussed. Emphasis is placed on the control of the dynamic braking contactors where braking is required on power failure irrespective of direction of rotation of the motor. The use of polarized spring-closing contactors offers a simple and reliable solution when ruggedness of the equipment is important. Methods of obtaining graduated dynamic braking automatically also are considered.
