Zusammenfassung: | Anthracene and vinyl naphthalene were melt blended with a low density polyethylene grade at concentrations of 0.5 and 2 wt% respectively. The latter was mixed with dicumyl-peroxide and crosslinked. The resistance to external partial discharges was measured by recording time to breakdown in a needle-plane configuration. The external PD resistance was neither increased by crosslinking nor by the addition of aromatic additives at concentrations of up to a few percent by weight. |
