Zusammenfassung: | One of the issues in Optical Burst Switching (OBS) scheme is that it does not ensure safe and lossless transmission. There is always a probability of burst loss associated with this phenomenon. To solve this problem a new scheme, bimodal burst switching was proposed which ensures a zero burst loss probability. In order to support different types of prioritized traffic over the same network, Quality of Service has been provided in OBS but this feature is still missing in BBS scheme. Therefore, this paper focuses on the design of efficient burst aggregation and scheduling algorithms in order to support Quality of Service in Mode 0 of BBS networks and analyze their performance using simulation. Two types of traffic used are Voice (which is modeled by Poisson arrival process) and data (which is modeled by Interrupted Poisson arrival process (IPP)). Through a simulation set-up it is shown that voice traffic is prioritized over the Internet traffic and the packet delay obtained for the voice traffic is less as compared to the Internet traffic. |
